Vibrant Designs To Help Them Get Well

We’re solidly into cold and flu season, and chances are you know someone who is suffering from more than the winter blues. It’s traditional to offer someone who is under the weather a flower gift; it shows care and concern and brings a little life into their space at a time when, let’s face it, they are probably bed, couch or hospital bound. A gift of flowers can go a long way to perking someone up, we here at Robertson’s Flowers believe, reminding them that they will recover.

Naturally, a bright and vibrant design works best for people who are ailing. Bright color telegraphs optimism and positivity, two things that might be in short supply. We love our Northern Lights bouquet with its striking color combination of yellows, oranges and purples, an arrangement that works equally well for men and women. It also looks ahead to spring in its use of tulips and hyacinth, a gentle reminder of the garden.

Study after study enumerates the therapeutic benefits of flowers. In 2008, the American Society of Horticultural Science found that hospitalized patients who had flowers or a potted plant in their rooms used less pain medication and had lower blood pressure overall compared to their flower-less counterparts. Robertson’s offers a rich collection of designs intended to lift the spirits of people at a time when they need it most.
